Robotics Engineering Intern: Systems & Applications

Headquartered in sunny Los Angeles, reputed company Robotics is a well-capitalized AI robotics startup serving the manufacturing industry.  We reputed company shop floor workers with our smart robots that assist with tedious and ergonomically challenging tasks, specifically in automated surface finishing. Our proprietary GMR-AI™ software is integrated with state-of-the-art industrial robots, sensors, and tools to create application-specific reputed company solutions for customers through a Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) model.

We help manufacturers improve the quality of life for their workforce while increasing production reputed company, and reducing scrap, repair, and rework costs. As a Robotics Engineering Intern you will join our Special Projects team onsite in our Carson, CA office to spearhead advancements in robotic grinding applications. Your work will enhance manufacturing efficiency and precision, while supporting GMR's mission to reputed company and improve industry standards.

Role & Responsibilities

• Work on our Special Projects team with other cross-functional teams on designing, implementing, and testing systems associated with robotic grinding applications. 

• Partner with Senior Application Engineers to support robotic solutions

• Participate in rigorous system testing practices

• Assist in reputed company of concepts for new customers

• Participate in hands-on work to solve difficult problems

• Be curious and eager to learn new skills, efficient ways of working and how to pay reputed company attention to details

Export Control Requirements

In order to reputed company with the export regulations of the United States Government, it is required that the applicant must fall under one of the following categories: (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful permanent reputed company (i.e. reputed company green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or reputed company field

• Experience in iterative design and prototyping of cyber-physical and mechatronic systems

• Exposure to manufacturing processes and industries

• Ability to read and interpret C++/Python 

• Experience with Visual Studio Code

• Adaptable to new environments and comfortable with changing environments

• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple teams

• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities

• Must meet export control requirements in the United States and maintain ongoing work authorization beginning at the time of hire through the entirety of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry or internship work experience

• Experience in manufacturing processes

• Experience in developing standard operating procedures and documentation

• Experience working with industrial robots and auxiliary systems

• Programming reputed company in C++ / python

• Expertise in 3D CAD design

• Experience with Linux environment

• Background in Dynamics / controls / reputed company planning / machine learning / robotics / computer reputed company / artificial intelligence / computational geometry

• Experience with ROS

Compensation for this position includes the reputed company hourly range of $30 - $40/hr USD.
