Immigration Attorney, Removal and Federal Litigation

aiLegal is seeking a highly disciplined, experienced Immigration Attorney to lead removal defense and federal immigration litigation matters in a fast-paced, AI-driven practice. This role is designed for attorneys who take full ownership of complex cases, execute with speed and precision, and thrive in a high-accountability, productivity-based environment. We handle a wide spectrum of immigration cases including family immigration, humanitarian matters, business immigration, consular processing, removal defense, and federal litigation. We operate on a flat rate model with assigned credit hours per case type and enforce high accountability in meeting deadlines and productivity benchmarks. Each team member is expected to deliver at least 100 credit hours per month, and the Managing Attorney ensure that the team collective delivers 100 X team head accounts credit hours monthly. Our unique service model ensure speed, standardization, and client satisfaction by structing every case into a clear assembly-line pipeline. We are seeking experienced immigration attorneys who can independently and reliably manage complex caseloads with zero missed deadlines, strong legal strategy, and consistent productivity. The ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment, take ownership of assigned cases, and consistently meet monthly productivity benchmarks. The position requires deep familiarity with USCIS, DOL, DOS, ICE, EOIR, and federal courts procedures, strong case management skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality legal work under tight timelines within our flat-rate, credit-hour model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Preparation & Management
  • Serve as lead attorney on removal defense and federal immigration litigation.
  • Drive legal delivery of complex cases from drafting, finalizing, explaining, to legal review, sign-off, and post-filing explanation to our clients.
  • Provide legal strategies, and quality assurance to cases assigned and cases reviewed.
  • Manage and update case pipelines using aiLegal’s proprietary AI platform and case management software
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure all filings are timely and compliant with court and USCIS requirements
  • Appearance for USCIS interview, court appearance, or ICE reporting nationwide.
  • Client Communication
  • Conduct structured client interviews, gather supporting evidence, and ensure accuracy of factual records.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients to provide updates and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Collaboration & Quality Control
  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys, intake specialists, and paralegals in a structured assembly-line pipeline.
  • Ensure case files meet aiLegal’s internal quality standards and procedural checklists before attorney review.
  • Productivity & Accountability
  • Meet or exceed 100 credit hours per month in completed deliverables.
  • Maintain daily time and productivity logs.
  • Support the Managing Attorney in achieving team-level output targets (100 x team headcount monthly credit hours).

Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an ABA credited U.S. law school, active license in good standing.
  • Minimum 5 years of immigration law experience (removal defense and federal litigation focus).
  • Proficiency in USCIS, DOL, DOS, ICE, EOIR, and federal courts immigration procedures.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and accountability skills, proven record of meeting deadlines and productivity goals.
  • Familiarity with Jira or equivalent project/case management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Job Performance Expectation

  • Monthly Output: Minimum 100 credit hours of completed work.
  • Quality: Zero-tolerance for any preventable errors - wrong personal data, missing pages/signatures, missing/wrong filing fee payments (issuance date, payee name, amount), form editions, filing addresses, missing form page, or wrong orders of forms, missing signatures or dates, missed filing/hearing deadlines, or failure to follow SOP.
  • Responsiveness: All internal communications acknowledged and responded within 2 hours, and all external communication acknowledged and responded within 24 hours.
  • Collaboration: Active participation in structured case assembly-line processes and cross-team reviews.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ($135, 000 - $185, 000 DOE) plus performance-based bonuses tied to credit-hour productivity, quality, and client satisfaction. Top performers can earn $200, 000 + annually.
