Position Overview: Senior Data Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Analyst to join our Subscriber Operations team within the Data Analysis group. This critical role is responsible for the measurement and management of subscriber balances across the arenaflex Streaming portfolio, including Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate subscriber communication and engagement while maintaining data integrity across all our streaming platforms.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will be responsible for driving subscriber analytics initiatives and ensuring the accuracy of subscriber communications. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Subscriber Communication Management: Manage admission and file data requirements related to subscriber messaging initiatives, including cost increases, subscriber agreements, and new data collection efforts. Ensure that subscribers receive timely, accurate, and legally compliant communications.
  • Incident Remediation: Identify subscribers impacted by incidents requiring necessary and legal remediations. Collaborate with incident management, Business Operations, and engineering teams to ensure subscriber balance integrity and that customers receive appropriate refunds when required.
  • Query Development: Develop complex queries based on required business logic, including legally binding queries, to determine accurate subscriber cohorts for messaging and remediation purposes. Utilize advanced SQL skills to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translate business requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams. Provide concise summaries of technical progress or roadblocks to business stakeholders, ensuring alignment between technical and business objectives.
  • Data Infrastructure Expertise: Develop a strong understanding of subscriber balances and the technical infrastructure that underlies subscriber data. Become the go-to subject matter expert for data-related questions within the team.
  • Project Planning & Delivery: Manage project planning and schedules while overseeing cross-functional delivery to ensure readiness for important business events, such as pricing changes, product launches, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Process Optimization: Drive alignment across Data, Business Operations, and Finance through the development of strong communication processes and operational playbooks. Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Reporting & Visualization: Collaborate with Data Product and Data Quality Engineering teams to contribute to the design of robust reporting solutions that minimize data incidents. Create dashboards and visualizations that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Technical Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience developing in SQL, particularly within an ETL processing pipeline. Strong proficiency in writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and working with large-scale datasets.
  • Analytical Expertise: Minimum 2 years of analytical experience, demonstrating the ability to extract meaningful insights from data and translate them into actionable business recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Proven experience delivering technical and analytical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including executive stakeholders, technical teams, and business partners. Strong written and verbal presentation abilities.
  • Programming Knowledge: Proficiency in Python, R, or other statistical programming languages for data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Visualization Tools: Hands-on experience with data analysis and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio, or similar platforms.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across functional teams and build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications would be considered a significant advantage:

  • Advanced Statistical Knowledge: Understanding of statistical concepts such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and predictive modeling. Experience applying statistical methods to real-world business problems.
  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Streaming Industry Experience: Familiarity with Wind or similar data processing frameworks used in big data environments.
  • Subscription Business Knowledge: Understanding of subscription-based business models, subscriber lifecycle management, and recurring revenue analytics.
  • ETL & Data Pipeline Experience: Experience with ETL tools, data warehousing concepts, and cloud-based data platforms.
