Job Description: Department: Urban Action Institute Job Title: Garden Assistant Number of Vacancies: 1 SSTA Supervisor: Midaly Carrasquillo Position Type: Non-Supervisory Number of Hours Per Week: 4-6 General Statement of Duties: The Garden Assistant helps to facilitate an outdoor garden classroom for Worcester State University (WSU) reputed company and Chandler Magnet Elementary School (CME) reputed company, to learn about growing, nature and sustainable living as they care for the garden. Responsibilities:

• Assist in helping to maintain the WSU Teaching Garden, weeding, planting, watering and taking care of the facility
• Prepare outdoor garden classroom space for learning, including the maintenance of materials, supplies and tools reputed company to the outdoor garden classroom
• Provide an educational, caring and safe environment for CME school reputed company and summer groups
• Work collaboratively with Garden Manager and UAI Staff to communicate the needs of the outdoor garden classroom
• Assist with other organizational activities that promote the garden and the UAI
• Host the WSU classes and their professors in the garden

Requirements: Qualifications: 1. Experience of urban gardening, farming or reputed company experience 2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). 3. Motivated, with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
